Discover the surreal beauty of a city reborn from ruins. Explore the fusion of history and futurism in Sicily's most enigmatic site.

Sicily is usually very tactile. It’s about the heat, the sea, the smell of food, and narrow alleys where even two mopeds struggle to pass each other. It’s about cities that grew in layers, from the Greeks to the Arabs, the Normans to the Spaniards. But today will be a different Sicily. I suggest heading to Gibellina, a city that didn’t grow organically but was purely imagined. After the 1968 earthquake, Old Gibellina was completely destroyed. People perished, homes vanished, and the familiar fabric of life was gone. Instead of rebuilding everything as it was, a bold and strange decision was made: to build a new city from scratch as a concept.

Hi, I'm Andrey. I’ve spent most of my life in design and education, but my real passion lies in exploring the world through a camera lens and the prism of visual culture. For me, architecture is much more than just buildings. It's a form of "frozen music" and a history that anyone can learn to read if they know where to look. When I travel, I’m not just checking off landmarks; I’m filming the aesthetic of each city, trying to capture its unique rhythm and character. My tours are designed for those who want to sharpen their visual intuition and "train their eye." We’ll focus on the small details that usually go unnoticed, discuss how classical art influences modern design, and hunt for truly cinematic locations. Join me to see the city through the eyes of an artist and a filmmaker.
